Under water, inside a train or both?

We all know that it is difficult to hold our breath under water, unless we are familiar with scuba diving! Nonetheless, the Amsterdam based design duo Million Dollar Design managed to take a deep breath and design an underwater world into an old rundown subway train. Commissioned by the Amsterdam Public transport Company, Million Dollar Design, represented by Dutch creative production agency Shop Around, were selected by Artists & Co to give a facelift to one of the 30-year-old "Silver Gulls" metro trains in Amsterdam.

Anneloes van den Bergh and Pauline Teunissen, founders of Million Dollar Design, blend illustration, photography and fashion to create a dreamy wonder-world with some dark accents. Their work is romantic with slightly rough edges. Faithful to their design values, they came across a romantic concept and they created an underwater world. Instead of a dark sense of dull gray stones on the ground and the plastic walls in the subway their design gives a sense of infinity in an underwater world where you feel like you can swim away. And although still being underground as a passenger, you are now in a colorful world of fantasy.. ..










Is'nt is lovely? I will board that particular load whenever I board the train. And I mean every single day! Ahhhhh.

Vanity Fair Mosaic

Fashionable iconic mosaic images are made from recycled covers of Vanity Fair magazine where the titles are quite irregular.
Antonio Chiesa aka Village9991 was definitely inspired by mosaics and he works in various forms and and artistic techniques.

Yard that Feature An Optic

“Deformscape” is a recent project from Thom Faulders, founder of Faulders Studio, an architecture company from the US. The project is in fact an interesting outdoor pattern that was created in order to bring something fresh to a house in San Francisco. We quote from the designer’s website: “This limited space outdoor sculpture garden inherits a large tree, and uses this sole arboreal presence to establish a gravitational pattern of grooves that are focused towards the tree’s centroid. [...] To generate the resultant pattern, a 3-dimensional bulge is formed around the tree, and its distorted wire-grid projected onto a 2-dimensional surface.

Taking into account appearance effects created by perspective views from inside, the resultant planar surface appears sink around the tree.” If this project were implemented inside, it would probably not rise so much interest, However, being as it had to deal with opportunities existing in the environment, we consider that the idea behind is is very creative and original. Ferrari F1

This cool life-size Ferrari Formula 1 car was build by PUMA retail team out of nothing more than Ferrari branded clothing, caps, shoes and bags.









The F1 night racing is here again and the City Hall is pack with people. Ut seems to be flooded with F1 fever which I thought I should not miss out the fun. I guess this is a different visual approach towards the display. :)
