How can I sum up Vietnam? It is indeed an eye opener a fun trip that I believe is much addictive that might be the socket that trigger the love for backpacking.

Millions of motor bike that look out for pedestrian, tons of road side snacks, balloons, smile & more smile!

A 3rd caliber country? No, they got much more elements that makes me adore their way of compromisingly environment.
Still, I'm much thankful what was given to me here, the luxury of air conditions, good traffic.

I've learn much from this trip. I believe love will post up picture. I shall post the link here.

Yard that Feature An Optic

“Deformscape” is a recent project from Thom Faulders, founder of Faulders Studio, an architecture company from the US. The project is in fact an interesting outdoor pattern that was created in order to bring something fresh to a house in San Francisco. We quote from the designer’s website: “This limited space outdoor sculpture garden inherits a large tree, and uses this sole arboreal presence to establish a gravitational pattern of grooves that are focused towards the tree’s centroid. [...] To generate the resultant pattern, a 3-dimensional bulge is formed around the tree, and its distorted wire-grid projected onto a 2-dimensional surface.

Taking into account appearance effects created by perspective views from inside, the resultant planar surface appears sink around the tree.” If this project were implemented inside, it would probably not rise so much interest, However, being as it had to deal with opportunities existing in the environment, we consider that the idea behind is is very creative and original. What do you think?

Cupmen: waiting for your instant noodles

One of h concept’s recent product releases is this adorable cupmen figurine who is determined, and works ever so diligently, to hold down the paper lid of your cup-ramen. Sure, your chopsticks could probably match the task. But do your chopsticks react to heat, changing color to notify you when 3 minutes has elapsed? I didn’t think so.

Designed by Akira Mabuchi.

The incredible light graffiti

The name light graffiti struggles to do these displays justice.
The fantastic spectacles of colour - which are the latest trend in street art - are as impressive as fireworks.
A host of light sources, from flash lights and bike lights to blinking LED lights, are used to 'paint' a picture straight onto the camera lens.
Also known as light drawing or light painting, these arresting images are created with long exposure cameras in the dark. Sometimes the exposures run on for longer than an hour.

These images are made by Jan Wöllert and Jörg Miedza, the brains behind Light Art Performance Photography. The pair from Bremen, Germany, have been working together since 2007 but neither are full-time photographers. Jan is a PA while Jorg is an office-based worker.

PRISM glasses case by SabotagePKG

PRISM glasses case by SabotagePKG
text by An Michiels for Yatzer

SabotagePKG is a cutting edge structural packaging and graphic design agency that specialises in the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) and luxury brand sectors. Their latest collaboration with London based cult label Prism Eyewear resulted in the stunning 'Prism' glasses case.
Prism Eyewear - a new high end label created by former trends and fashion journalist Anna Laub - tries to fill a gap in the market for glasses from a fashion accessory perspective, rather than just being functional. Their glasses are aimed at anyone who has an interest in the aesthetic, who is obsessed with detail but doesn't want to lose on functionality. The SabotagePKG case design cleverly translates Prism's objectives, giving the Prism brand real standout at point of sale.

SabotagePKG took their inspiration from the idea of prisms and glass reflections. The result is as eye-catching as the Prism glasses themselves, perfectly complementing the Prism brand's positioning towards people for whom glasses are an important aesthetic accessory.

The completely transparent two-piece injection moulded object of desire stands proudly upright and reflects the core idea that glasses are about light and vision.
SabotagePKG's Creative Director, Sav Savva, comments: “Prism glasses are hand-made and hand-finished with great emphasis laid on combining traditional techniques with beautiful modern aesthetics. We therefore worked with these brand values to create something equally unique that would reflect the traditional function of glasses and add an aspirational, beautiful look to the packaging itself. It’s been very rewarding to see a number of famous faces already wearing the products.”

I wil be away for a short get away this weekend. I shall be back all charged before I bid 2009 goodbye! I've already set the mode, without my presence, inspiration continue!

Have fun, be safe! Ciao!

A Parallel Image

“A Parallel Image” is an electronic camera obscura, made by Gebhard Sengmüller, in collaboration with Franz Büchinger. It is an interactive sculpture which can capture and display images. On one side is a camera made of 2500 photo senser which are mounted on a 1 by 1 meter board. On the other side there is the monitor with 2500 light bulbs to display to image. In between each sensor and light bulb there is a 3 meter long copper wire. The resolution of this sculpture is of course quite low, but the aesthetic of the device is very nice.

Hermes Window Display Illusion

Cool video installation created by Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka for Maison Hermès store in Japan.

The window is designed with an image of woman projected on to a monitor. The scarf softly sways in the air in response to the woman’s blow.

On designing a window-display of Maison Hermès, I intended to express people’s daily 'movements' with a suspicion of humor. there are moments when I perceive a hidden presence of a person in the movements born naturally in daily life. I created a design where one can perceive someone behind the scarves as if life were being breathed into them. The window is designed with an image of woman projected on to a monitor. the scarf softly sways in the air in response to the woman’s blow. ' - TY
